What's Available Now?
Golden Delicious: We have several rows of these and there are a ton left and beautiful size and quality. Very crunchy.
Jonagold: Huge and beautiful. Probably our most impressive apple this year, especially the 3 rows by the railroad tracks on the south side. Very crunchy.
Melrose: Also a large, beautiful apple. Mildly sweet. Tons left!
Ruby Jon: So many beautiful, red apples out there! Losing some crunchy but in my opinion, my favorite for applesauce.
Jonathon: Several trees of these that have lots of nice apples on them. Ask and we can take you to them!
Gala: Almost to the end. A few buckets left on the 4 trees with the better eating quality apples. The 2 main rows are getting soft and not great for eating anymore.
Liberty: I have a tree or two hiding in the Jonagold rows if you want more of these. Super firm and crunchy still.
Honeycrisp: Almost to the end. We took down the Pick Here signs on these rows. If you really want some and are willing to walk a bit and hunt, there are still many medium green ones hiding underneath the leaves. The green ones are still sweet and crunch. More bees down there though than any other row.
Up Next:
It is a toss up for what will be ready next....either Rome, Fuji or Red Delicious I think. I'm guess all are a least a week or two out. Still pretty firm and green tasting. I'll post when one comes ready.
Apple Festival will be Saturday, Oct 15th from 10am to 2pm. Lots of fun, free things to do with the family or just a fun atmosphere to pick apple! Apple tasting, applesauce tasting, Scavenger Hunt, Apple crafts, Gator Rides, etc.
