UPDATE 8/3 evening: Gravenstein apples are done for the season. See you toward the end of August for Gala, Ruby Mac and Smoothies to start!
UPDATE 8/3: Best guess is there are 10 buckets of Gravensteins left.
Signs now guide you out to 3 older variety Gravensteins trees. These are green color and medium (some large).
The older row, that also has a sign helping you find it, has many medium/small green Apples left. Not as ripe. All the more ripe ones have been picked.
I will update one last time once these have been more picked over.
Thanks!
UPDATE 8/2: Gravensteins are being picked steadily. Not going to last as long as we were expecting. So I could come in the next couple days if you are really hoping to get some.
Opening day of Gravenstein apples is Wednesday, August 1st! I think I just heard a big cheer go up!
Gravenstein are an old-time apples that are loved for pies especially and applesauce. They are a more tart than sweet flavor. Plan on using your Gravenstein up within 2 weeks of picking. They are not a long keeper.
$12 per 25# bucket (u-pick).
For Gravenstein apples, we have an additional row this year! So don't feel as panicked that you will miss them! We still have no idea how fast picking them will go but they will definitely last more than a few days. We will open the original row first because they are more ripe, then go to the newer row.
Hours for Gravenstein apples: 8am to 5pm. Monday- Saturdays. Closed Sundays.
Apple location: 4925 Rockdale St NE, Brooks OR 97305
We will normally have someone around to assist you but we are still busy with many other harvests, so may have some slots of time where we will get pulled away. Please come prepared with cash or check in case we had to step away but if we are around we will have the credit card machine available. Saturday especially may be mostly self-serve.
U-Pick blueberries are still available too! They will be available 1-2 more weeks. Blueberries are located at 5371 Brooklake Rd NE, Brooks, OR 97305. Blueberry u-pick hours are Wed-Sat, 9am to 4pm.
U-Pick Tomatoes aren't ready quite yet. None of the larger slicer or romas at least but there are starting to be lots of the cherry type yellow Sun Sugar tomatoes.
Can't wait to see you all soon!
(FYI, after Gravenstein are picked, there is a short break until the main apple season starts.)
