Liberty apples are ready! Liberty are a very pretty medium to small apple with a crunchy, zingy sweet flavor. They are great for drying and several have told me that it's great for apple butter. A nice eating apple and good for cooking.
We have about 1/2 a row of these so don't wait to long if these are a must have for you.
We have also opened ALL rows of Jonagold for picking.
We also have 5 full trees of Jonathon apples in the older section of the orchard. Ask our apple staff to help you find them. These are an old-time apple that are great for cooking, juicing and a tart-sweet flavor for eating. A favorite of Grandpa Beilke's.
Smoothie apples are done for the season although if you hunt you can still scavenge some toward the end.
Look at this piece of pie that a friend made with Jonagold apples!!! Oh my goodness, it looks so good. Have you all made tons of pies already this year?
Other Apples Available Now:
Gala, Melrose, Ruby Jon and Ruby Mac
How are the tomatoes faring in the rain?
The tomatoes are faring better than I thought so far in the rain. Only some splitting in the slicer types but lots of available that look good. I haven't seen any splitting in the Romas.
