Welcome, July!

July has arrived! On the farm that means Grass Season! We are waiting patiently for the perfect day to begin and soon our days and nights will be filled with Grass harvesting. Although harvest season is busy and our days are very full, it is very fulfilling to see the fruits of our labor.

Following grass season will be Apple Season! We are busy preparing and planning for you all to join us soon for the harvest of our Apples, Tomatoes, Pears, Pumpkins and Peppers that we have been working on all year. We can’t wait to see you all soon!

2020 Season Is Almost Here

Summer has arrived and we are busy preparing for our season! We have doubled our Tomato and Pumpkin plants for this year and have planted some new Jonagold rows and look forward to getting our first harvest from our new Fuji trees! We have listened to your feedback and three years ago we planted two new rows of nicer, redder Fuji's and we are very excited to see their first harvest this year!

We are excited to open and invite you all back out to the orchard mid/late August. You might notice some slight changes when paying to keep everyone safe but U-pick will be happening and we cannot wait! We will start the season with Gravenstein and will have some early varieties of tomatoes to start picking as well. We will keep you updated of all the details and what to expect when you come out to the orchard when we get closer.

One other change we have made to the farm is the discontinuing of our blueberries. We no longer have blueberries at our field out Brooklake Rd (not our main location). We have been excited to branch out and plant a new orchard of Hazelnut trees in their place. It has been exciting for us to learn a new crop. Although we changed over our small blueberry patch, rest assured that our Apples are here to stay. Some of our Apple trees were planted by Phil back in 1959 and are a major part of our family farm. We have several other fields throughout Brooks that we try different crops on from time to time, but our home base will remain grounded in our Apple roots.  We have a few alternative blueberry u-pick locations listed below that we highly recommend.

Look forward to seeing you all soon!

Spring Has Sprung!

While we are adjusting and adapting to our new way of life on the farm, one thing has remained, growth. We are growing as we learn new ways to maintain our crops while also keeping our hard working employees safe and distant from one another. We are growing while we envision what our harvest season will look like and brainstorm ways to make it happen safely. Our crops are still growing and entering their beautiful spring plumage. Our spring bees have arrived and are making quick work of our blossoms.

Spring time in the valley is a beautiful time to step out and see all of nature’s growth. We hope to soon be able to venture out again with you all to enjoy the fruits of our labor!
