First Day Of Fall

Yesterday was the first official day of fall and boy is it starting to feel like fall at the orchard. Apples, Pumpkins and Tomatoes are being picked and we have a few new fall additions to add to the mix this year.
For Apples we have added Liberty, Melrose and Golden Delicious to the Ripe and Ready list. Liberty is a fun, tart apple that is fantastic for drying. Melrose is an employee favorite and is sweet and crunchy and great for baking, eating, and applesauce. Golden Delicious is a classic apple and the second best rated for pies. This apple can be underrated due to it getting soft sitting on a store shelf, but fresh off the tree this apple shines. It is sweet and crunchy and simply delicious.
Pumpkins are ready to be picked and we have quite the variety this year. Orange, white, blue, black, red, and even pink pumpkins can be found in the pumpkin patch!
Tomatoes are doing well. Our slicers continue to ripen a bit more everyday and we have a plentiful amount of romas waiting to be picked and canned!
Our new fall additions are Squash and Gourds! We have three varieties of squash available. Butternut, spaghetti and acorn! We have a few different varieties of gourds to choose from including birdhouse, goose neck, batwing, and a few others!

Jonagold, Ruby Jon and Pumpkins!

The cooler weather is here and looks like Fall has arrived!
This week we have added Jonagold and Ruby Jon to the Ripe and Ready list!
Jonagold is such a wonderful apple. It has a classic apple flavor and is incredibly juicy. It is a very versatile apple and is great for all uses.
Ruby Jon is our highest rating applesauce apple. It is sweet and juicy. If you leave a tiny bit of the skin on during cooking it will turn the applesauce a fun pink color. It is also great for eating.
For those anxious to get started on Pumpkin season, we are opening the pumpkin patch! We have quite the variety this year and can't wait to see what you all find in the patch!
With the cloudy weather this week our Watermelon did not ripen as fast as we expected. We will need to wait another week to open it back up again for picking.

Beilke Family Farm

The weekend is here and it is bringing the heat! We will be staying open regular hours this weekend and ready for those that want to still venture out. For those that want some Apples, but don't want to pick in the heat, we have some we-pick Beilke Boxes ready at the stand! A we-pick Beilke Box is $20.
Tomatoes are doing well, and ripening a bit more each day. These hot days will really encourage the ripening so we should be seeing more and more available on the vines.
The Watermelon patch is being closed for the weekend for ripening. We were so thrilled to see how many of you were excited to come pick them! We did two plantings this year, so our second planting is ALMOST ripe. We should be able to open the Watermelon patch again in a week.
